Human life from conception to death is valuable because we have been made in the image of God. In the original language of Genesis, the expression “make man in our image” meant that God made man “into” his image much the same way a potter would take lump of clay and make it into a pot. This means that we are not just “made” in the image of God—we “are” the image of God, i.e. we are God’s representatives on earth. Thank God today that you are incredibly valuable to him!
