Christ the King

Topic: Christ the King Sunday Passage: Psalm 47:2
We all have special days that we celebrate during the year: birthdays,
anniversaries, and holidays. For centuries Christians have had their lives revolve
around events on a different calendar, the liturgical, or church calendar. This
calendar divides the year into seasons like Lent, Easter, Advent and Christmas. The
last Sunday of the church calendar is a special time called “Christ the King” Sunday
and it comes just before the beginning of Advent. This week in our devotionals we will
focus on two questions: What kind of King is Jesus? And what does it mean to embrace
Jesus as your King? In a world of chaos and confusion, the Bible reminds us where
history is headed: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord
and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15b NIV) Thank
God today that He is in charge of this world and in charge of your life.
